Donor Societies & Circles

To honor Eastern Kentucky University 's most generous supporters, a number of giving societies have been formed that recognize annual donations, lifetime support, and those special individuals who have made some type of future provision for the University through an estate or planned gift.

Through the following structure we want to recognize, thank, and keep you and other generous contributors connected to EKU's learning community and one another. Your passion and dedication to Eastern serves as an example for others to follow.

Planned Giving

Legacy Society

The Eastern Kentucky University Legacy Society recognizes alumni and friends who have provided for EKU in their estate plans. These charitable contributions greatly benefit Eastern while often offering substantial tax advantages to the donors. The most common form of an estate or “planned” gift is a will bequest in which a donor names EKU as beneficiary of a specific dollar amount or residual percentage of an estate. Other planned gift options include charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts and gifts of life insurance. A number of unique variations are possible with these plans, many of which provide donors with lifetime payments.

If you have already made estate provisions for EKU or if you have questions about the Legacy Society, please contact Shelley Ward at 859-622-8090 or shelley.ward@eku.edu.

*President’s Circle and Milestone Society includes any gift to the University with the exception of WEKU and the EKU Center for the Arts as they both have their own recognition programs.
